Alongside the Core Web Vitals, there are also a number of other metrics under the Web Vitals umbrella. These include:
Speed Index – How quickly the content of a webpage is visually displayed. It provides a score that represents the perceived load time based on how quickly visible content appears.
TTFB (Time to First Byte) – The time between when the server receives a request for a resource and when the first byte of a response begins to arrive. A good benchmark is 0.8 seconds or less.
FCP (First Contentful Paint) – The time taken for the browser to render the first piece of content on a webpage. It indicates when users start seeing visual changes on the screen.
TTI (Time to Interactive) – How long it takes for a webpage to become fully interactive and responsive to user input. It represents the point at which users can actively engage with the page.
TBT (Total Blocking Time) – When the main thread of a webpage is blocked and unresponsive to user input. It reflects the time period when a user might experience delays or unresponsiveness.
Web Vitals will evolve and develop over time so it is definitely worth being prepared and optimising your site as frequently as possible. There is definitely no quick fix and this will be an ongoing project through keeping an eye on industry developments and putting Customer Experience at the forefront of your strategy.
